About the Artist
Contemporary painter and South American native, Yesid Gomez transforms colors into surreal poetic shapes and movement. Often inspired by dreams, people and the color of a boyhood in Colombia, Gomez was immersed in the sounds, smells, tastes and feel of his childhood. Painting in the streets became the starting point of his career- a passion that today has comefull circle. By creating from both real and imaginary experiences Gomez’s work is rich with form, texture and personal reflection.
Sculptor Wilfer Buitrago also discovered a passion for the arts early in life. His often life size works are inspired by the human form and embrace both the anatomical perfections and imperfections of the human body. In his life long search for identity and personal style, Buitrago has developed his own sculpting clay allowing him to explore the depths of fragility and vulnerability within the human condition. Columbia, South America native country and the arts are his primary language.
Yesid Gomez and Wilfer Buitrago are cousins through blood and creative partners by choice.
