pHERspective

Loryn Spangler-Jones

April 20th, 2018
Opening Reception: 04/20/2018, 7p-10p

Challenging the very foundation of a career built on studying the female figure, Loryn Spangler-Jones leans way in as she begins to explore and merge the masculine lines and form. While simultaneously preserving the uncompromising strength and tenderness of the female form, ‘pHERspective,’ expands to the possibility of a more controlled and penetrating shift in focus.

This newest collection of work invites and challenges viewers to redefine our regard of a masculine dominated world by way of embracing, adopting and rechanneling an old energy in a new way. When we change our perception, we change the conversation. When we change the conversation, ultimately, we change the world.

This show will exhibit for ONE night only. Contrasting soft, lyrical line work with strong and saturated mark making, ‘pHERspective,’ is, at its core, a balancing act on the tightrope of fear and change.
