April 7 - 28th, 2017
Opening Reception: 04/07/2017, 5p-9p
Innocence, sexuality, vulnerability and power are just a few of the emotions associated with the naked body. Continuing her study of the human form, local artist, Abigale Fortnum, exhibits comfort, normality and even humor often times masked under the embarrassment of an exposed body. Deliberate, intense pigment, bold line work, and a masterful use of negative space, Fortnum’s newest collection of work will simultaneously comfort and challenge the viewer…almost daring you not you look.
About the Artist
Abigale Fortnum is an illustrator and sculptor specializing in watercolor, ink, and polymer clay. A graduate of Pennsylvania College of Art and Design, Fortnum has remained in Lancaster in order to continue chasing her art career. Her work is highly figurative and often times challenging with nudes being a favorite source of inspiration. Her focus remains consistent with exaggerated form, gesture and color while exploring humor, sexuality, and discomfort.
